Special Populations Division
Members of the Special Populations Division are professionals working with individuals who have special learning needs. These include youth and adults who face challenges such as: academic and/or economic disadvantages/disabilities; limited English proficiency; current or past incarceration; long-term unemployment or underemployment; teenage pregnancy and parenthood; lack of education (dropouts or dropout risks); and nontraditional students.
 
Association for Career and Technical Education
Founded in 1926, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) is the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for successful careers.
 

Division on Career Development and Transition
The mission of DCDT is to promote national and international efforts to improve the quality of and access to, career/vocational and transition services, increase the participation of education in career development and transition goals and to influence policies affecting career development and transition services for persons with disabilities.

Vocational Evaluators and Career Assessment Professionals
It is comprised of a membership of professionals
 who provide vocational evaluation, assessment, and career services and others interested in these services.
  Mobile Career Counseling Service for Atlanta
New Start Services located in Atlanta, GA offers specialized testing for ages 2 through 13 that will help assess problem behavior(s) and appropriate social, language, and learning memory skills. Additional tests for pre-school through adults are available, i.e., executive functioning abilities, reading comprehension, listening comprehension, visual-motor integration, independent living readiness.

 

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
It is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving the educational success of individuals with disabilities and/or gifts and talents. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides professional development, advocates for individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.
